“Are You Getting Enough ZZZ’s?” – Presented by Gwennyth Palafox, Ph. D. and Amanda Hsu, LFMT, BCBA

This workshop is designed to educate parents of the health benefits enough sleep can have on children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. You will learn how good sleep is not only important, but necessary for learning and emotional health. Practical strategies and techniques on evaluating and promoting sleep quality, especially for individuals with special needs, will be a main focus.

“IEP Essentials: Tips & Strategies For Any Parent Facing the Process” – Presented by Mark Woodsmall, Esq.

This particular workshop is designed to educate and inform guardians of children with special needs of their rights in the IEP (Individualized Education Program) process and how to get the most out of their child’s IEP. The IEP meeting is held to design a unique and tailored education plan for your child with special needs. This workshop provides helpful tips and suggestions for a successful IEP meeting. How to assemble and organize documents for the IEP meeting, what team members should be in attendance for this meetings and how to request an Independent Educational Evaluation will all be addressed.
