Ideal Candidates:
We are looking for law students who:
- Have a demonstrated interest in public interest law, education law, or disability rights.
- Possess strong legal writing and research skills.
- Are empathetic, collaborative, and driven by a desire to advocate for others.
- Have successfully completed at least one year of law school, including coursework in Evidence.
- Have taken or are preparing to take the California Bar Exam (for Post-Bar Clerkships).
- Prior exposure to IEPs, education law, or administrative hearings is a plus, but not required.
- Demonstrate a commitment to public service through professional and/or volunteer experiences.

- Cover Letter: Please express your specific interest in a Pre-Bar or Post-Bar Law Clerk position and highlight your relevant experiences and commitment to special education or disability rights. Address your letter to the Hiring Committee.
- Resume: Detail your legal education, relevant coursework (including completion of Evidence), and any legal experience, volunteer work, internships, or clinical experiences.
- Law School Transcript: An unofficial transcript is acceptable for the initial application.
- Legal Writing Sample: Please submit a redacted legal document (5–10 pages) that demonstrates your analytical and writing abilities. Examples include a memorandum, brief, motion, or a section from a research paper.
- Availability: Please indicate your availability, including start date and anticipated duration of the clerkship, as well as your anticipated or actual bar passage date (if applicable for Post-Bar).
